Campus / Institution Overview
Soweto Urban has reported on Kiddies Hope Academy several times since 2024. Its October 2025 article describes the Dobsonville site as the academy’s main campus, and a July 2024 article covered a career expo at Kiddies Hope Academy Ennerdale, so the academy appears to operate more than one centre. Academy representative Xolani Sithole has been quoted in these reports.
The academy’s approach is to expose young children to different careers. Reported activities include:
- Future Pilots Programme: aviation-themed learning, with educational tours to see helicopters and aeroplanes (2025).
- Career day: a year-long careers programme ending in a September career day where children dress up as the job they want (Soweto Urban, September 2024).
- Farming and food: lessons on where food comes from, farms and how milk is processed.
- Money skills: a financial literacy session with Standard Bank, reported in 2024.
Soweto Urban reported that 98 children were graduating from the academy to various primary schools at the end of 2025.

Courses, Programmes or Grades
Kiddies Hope Academy serves children from two to five years old, the stage before Grade R and Grade 1. Children then move on to primary school. The academy is not on the Department of Basic Education’s master list of ordinary schools, which is normal for early childhood development (ECD) centres.
Ask the academy:
- Which age groups or classes it has space in for the coming year
- Whether it offers Grade R, or only pre-Grade R classes
- The daily programme, meals and nap times
- Whether aftercare is available and until what time
- How the career programmes and outings are run and paid for
Admissions & Entry Requirements
According to Soweto Urban, the academy has had a waiting list because of space constraints, and it holds an enrolment or open day each year. In November 2024 parents who had been on the waiting list were invited to enrol at an open day, and the 2026 enrolment day was held on 1 November 2025 from 09:00 to 13:00.
Documents parents were asked to bring:
- Original ID documents of the parents or guardians
- The child’s birth certificate (original)
It is also sensible to take the child’s clinic card (Road to Health booklet), proof of address and any medical information, as most ECD centres ask for these.
Applications
There is no online application system. Enrolment has been done in person at the Dobsonville campus on the academy’s enrolment day. Dates for 2027 enrolment had not been published when we checked. Watch for an announcement from the academy around October and November, when previous enrolment days were held, and ask whether a registration fee is payable and whether it is refundable.
Fees & Funding Information
Kiddies Hope Academy has not published its fees on any official channel we could find, and we do not repeat unverified figures from directories or social media posts. For more on what to ask, see Kiddies Hope Academy Dobsonville School Fees.
- Ask for the full fee structure in writing: registration, monthly fees, meals, transport, uniform, outings and graduation.
- Check whether fees are charged for 12 months or only for term months.
- Get a receipt for every payment.
- Ask whether the centre is registered as an ECD programme with the Gauteng Department of Education, which took over ECD registration from Social Development in 2022, and whether it receives any ECD subsidy.
Opening Hours & Directions
Daily opening hours are not published. The only published times are for enrolment events (for example 09:00 to 13:00 on 1 November 2025). Ask about drop-off and pick-up times when you visit.
For directions, search for Motsiame Street, Dobsonville in your map app, and include “Dobsonville” because Soweto has similar street names in different townships.
