Because walk-ins are seen in order of arrival, going early in the day gives you the best chance of being seen before closing, especially on a Saturday when the clinic closes at 13:00.

CareKahle is inside Dobsonville Mall on the Upper Level, above Shoprite. The GEMS medical scheme network list gives the unit as Shop 1B, Upper Level. The mall is at 75 Elias Motsoaledi Road (the M77), Mmesi Park, Soweto, and is easy to reach by minibus taxi along Elias Motsoaledi Road. If you drive, use the mall parking, then go to the Upper Level above Shoprite.

What CareKahle does not offer

According to its FAQs, CareKahle does not do child vaccinations, does not have a gynaecologist, and does not do terminations of pregnancy. Sick notes are only issued to patients who are sick, with the number of days decided by the clinician. For free childhood immunisations, the City of Johannesburg lists well-baby and immunisation services at Itireleng Clinic (011 988 3101).

CareKahle says its clinics can attend to some emergencies, but it is a day clinic that closes at 17:00 on weekdays and 13:00 on Saturdays. For chest pain, severe breathing problems, major injuries, heavy bleeding or signs of a stroke, go to a hospital or call an ambulance.
